Album Inserts

For the Album inserts we are going to use a mix of footage from the music video of the band and photos that are taken of the band to make it fit in with what a conventional pop-punk album would look like.
We are going to put a range of filtters on the images to make them stand out more.

Back of the Album

This is the first version of the back cover of the album. At the moment it look plain as we are deciding whether to carry on with the theme of the forest image in the background or use live shots of the band performing

Version One Magazine Advert

Out first version of our mock up advertisement sticks to the black and white theme for continuity purposes. However, we decided that this was boring and plain so we decided to add a background image (The same one we will add to the second version of our album cover)

Version One Album Cover

This is the first version of our mock up album cover as it is very basic and although that is a theme of the pop-punk genre we feel that the lack of a background image makes this boring and forgettable.

Magazine Advert Version Two

Our idea for a magazine advertisement uses ideas from the album cover and continues the themes with the background image and the banners. We think that this makes for an effective advertisement because it is simple in terms of design and layout but the continuation of the different themes, e.g. the banners for titles and the background image, make the advertisement recognisable and more associated with the album.

Magazine Adverts

This is a magazine advertisement from Basement-Jaxxs release of their album Rooty.

The advertisement uses the idea of blowing up the front of the album to cover the whole A4 advertisement. This is one of the most common versions of advertising an album because it makes the album more recognisable and it is more likely to stick in the buyers mind.

This is the Album Cover that the magazine advert is advertising.

Album Cover Version Two

For this version of our album cover we have used aspects of the Jimmy eat world album cover that I analysed in an earlier post. Aspects that we used are the idea of the silhouettes and the banner for the album name and band name to go on.

This makes it look like an effective pop-punk album cover because it highlights the instruments in the silhouettes and keeps it simple, which is the idea behind the pop-punk genre.
